Happy Easter Long weekend! It's has been a big term of getting back into school, finding new rhythms, and new team members. Foundation First will be closed over the long weekend and we will be taking some time off over the holidays. Your therapist will have spoken to you about appointments but if you've got any questions, or want to book something in; please call Zak on (02) 9735 3691.
Sarah will be checking emails over the holidays so if anything is URGENT, please email: sarah@foundationfirstsp.com.
Trying something new this time! I write these little updates to keep everyone in the loop and talk about services that might be of use to our clients, but what do you want to see here?

New face in the clinic!
Bec Jacobs from FUNctional Occupational Therapy has moved in over Term 1. Bec is a sole practitioner of her own business and provides paediatric OT services both in clinic and in the community. You may see her around the office Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays so be sure to g'day if you see her around.
We also have Zak, who commenced in February and has been busy learning everything there is to know about allied health reception. Zak is now our main point of contact for new referrals, invoicing and payments, and background work that keeps us all running smoothly. Zak is here every Thursday, 8-4.30pm.
Fees for Service Reminder
We've been so grateful to work with lovely families and kick some awesome goals this term! We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that invoices are due seven (7) days from the date of issue. These can be paid via bank transfer with details on your invoice, or via Medipass. You have the option to save your card details securely through Medipass to take the extra step out of paying. We can even process these payments for you and send an invoice for NDIS claiming. Let us know if you'd like to take this option.
Failure to pay invoices within the expected timeframe on a regular basis is a cause for termination of services. If you are having difficulty paying invoices within the timeframe or require an extension, please get in touch with Sarah on sarah@foundationfirstsp.com and we can work something out. Please see our Ceasing Services policy attached here.
On the topic of fees, Foundation First will be introducing a scheduled fee increase for our services. This will come into effect from July 1st, 2023. The NDIS is presently reviewing their Price Guide and any changes will be reflected in our billing. If you have any questions, please reach out. An email will be sent with further information regarding our fee increase in June.
AUsome Supports
We would also like to flag that we have AUsome Supports Support Coordination working out of our building too! AUsome Supports is a Neurodivergent owned and run company that provides support coordination services to both children and adults. If you require these services, or are looking for additional support in managing your NDIS plan or applying for funding, you can speak with Kim (in our office Monday and Tuesday) or touch base with her via kim.moran@ausomesupports.com.au.
Recruitment
We are looking for a speech pathologist to join the team on a part-time basis. Foundation First is looking for a motivated and committed speech pathologist to come work with us across Maitland and Newcastle, providing
quality services to our families and clients. If you know a speech pathologist who is looking for a change, wanting flexibility, and a team that feels like family, put them in touch with us! We'd love to meet them!
Candidates can apply through our Careers Tab here.
