Welcome back to 2022!

Welcome back to 2022! Foundation First is officially 1 year old! Happy Birthday to us! I wanted to start this post by saying a big thank you for all the families that have supported us over the past year. It has been a pleasure to work with and get to know you all over the last year.

We had a lovely little Christmas Party at the beginning of December the celebrate as a team, everything that we have accomplished so far!

New Phone Number

Firstly, another reminder that our contact details have changed! We are now working from a virtual phone and will have a consistent landline going forward.

You can reach the office or myself (Sarah) on (02) 9635 3691.

Kim, our lovely support coordinator can be reached on (02) 9635 3692.

Pop the number in your phones so you know it's us and not some random telemarketer!

Support Coordination

Kim is our beautiful support coordinator who has begun working with some families since we came out of lockdown. If you are seeking support to manage your NDIS funding, find yourself asking: what is this category even for?!, or I need some more support in my plan!, Give Kim a call (029635 3691) or send her an email on kim@foundationfirstsp.com to have a chat about how she can support you.

You can read a bit more about Support Coordination on our website here.

Group Therapy Programs

We are excited to be introducing some group therapy programs aimed to benefit children who are looking to develop their skills with other children. We are presently gathering interest from families would like their children to be involved in groups to work on social skills.

Social skills are important for any child to develop, and evidence shows that, children who have opportunity to practice social skills with other children, have more positive and generalised gains. We will be using the We Thinker's Program, an evidenced-based speech pathology program.

Please register your interest by emailing sarah@foundationfirstsp.com or discussing it at your next appointment. We would like to commence these programs in Term 2, 2022.

Covid-19 Update

Ah, our old friend COVID. The Omicron variant of COVID-19 is continuing to wreak havoc on plans and service delivery. In line with Public Health Recommendations, please continue to wear a mask whenever you come into the clinic. It is a requirement that you check-in to our clinic using the QR code. As previously, only one parent and the attending client. Any additional family members that come to an appointment cannot come into the clinic. Given the rising number of cases, we are limiting the number of people in the clinic to ensure the safety of staff and clients.

As always, if you, or any household contacts, have had COVID-19 symptoms or tested positive for COVID-19, you must cancel your appointment and not attend the clinic.

Lastly,

We're looking forward to seeing you all back in the clinic, at school, preschool, and your homes, very soon!

Here's to a great 2022!
